Exact Match versus Close Match
A quick note on our search
Over the past several years our software developers have developed some very complex job extraction algorithms to make job searching
much easier and more effective. When you enter a search using this application, our software essentially duplicates the search
across hundreds of sites and brings back job results to you in real-time. The result is that you spend more of your valuable time applying for jobs
rather than hunting them down. You will find more jobs and must faster using WorkTree.com
What is considered an "Exact Match"?
An "Exact Match" means that the search parameters you entered matched up with the search parameters on the jobsite or employer site that we scanned. For example, if you entered
a search for Keyword="Financial Analyst" and Location="Texas:Houston", then all those sites that had these same two search parameters are considered an "Exact Match" and the jobs
that results fall into the "Exact Match" category.
What is considered a "Close Match"?
Some sites let you only search by state and no city level option. Every job site has a different
search methodology and this program is designed to maximize your time and bring back as many relevant
results as possible.
A "Close Match" occurs in this situation:
- You search for jobs in a specific city
For example, you search for jobs in a certain city such as Location="California:Los Angeles". There are many sites that don't
allow searching on the city level but that site still may contain useful jobs, etc. So instead of just ignoring the site, this program
searches for jobs at the state level (Location:California) and brings back those results so that you can still scan and see if there is anything
that catches your attention. These kind of results are grouped into the "Close Match" count because its not your exact search
criteria.
Why do we seperate "Exact Match" and "Close Match"?
They are seperated to give you a better idea of what kind of jobs meet your "Exact" search criteria and also to maximize your job search time. You would want to explore the "Exact Matches" first and put
your time there and then move to the "Close Matches". This filtering of jobs also gives you a better understanding of the
complexity of trying to search hundreds of different sites where each site has
different search mechanisms and different job data storage.
